The National Tiger Sanctuary was founded in 2001 to provide an educational site to open minds and hearts to the fragile ecosystem that sustains our lives. Located in Bloomsdale, Missouri, some 50 miles south of St Louis, this site is home to five beautiful Bengal Tigers. These tigers are a bell-weather for the fragility of life on this planet. The photographs available at this site give you a glimpse of their beauty. In partnership with Barewalls.com a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of these photographs go directly to the feeding and housing of these tigers.

The natural habitat of these tigers has been overtaken by human need for survival. The natural land, forests and hunting ranges needed by these animals are no longer available on our planet because of the increased growth in human population in Siberia, India and South East Asia. Only concerted efforts by those who care will be able to create habitats that will allow these wonderful tigers to survive and thrive for our children. The National Tiger Sanctuary provides the care, love and land that allow these tigers to do just that.

Through developing partnerships with schools – grade schools through graduate schools – the National Tiger Sanctuary provides opportunity for the next generation to create a better world through education. We believe that real education not only touches the mind but the soul. The beauty of these animals opens our eyes so we can look into our own hearts to see that the choices we make today will decide whether these animals will survive for our children and their children. Though it appears that these tigers are the predator, with a little self-reflection and education it is easy to see that quite the opposite is true. Unless we make the right choices today these animals and many others will be extinct. The mission of the National Tiger Sanctuary is “Preservation Through Education”.
