One of Disney's most loved and enduring characters of all time, Tinkerbell ("Tink" for short) made her debut in the 1953 animated film of Peter Pan. Since then, Tinkerbell posters have decorated the walls of little girl's rooms around the world. But did you know that the Tinker Bell character was conceived by J. M. Barrie in his 1904 play and 1911 novel Peter and Wendy? And she has come a long way -- starting out as a tiny fairy and ending up as a Walt Disney spokesperson and a big star on Disney posters.
