The term "desert" has become synonymous with barrenness and harshness. But many people are building homes there, searching for and finding peace, solitude, and clean air in the open spaces of the American deserts.
Some of the most sought after images of the desert are Ansel Adams' black and white photographs. Also coveted and highly collectible are Alfred Gockel's paintings and John Nakata's colorful photos which portray the unique peace and stunning beauty of the desert spaces.
